FirstHand Technologies Completes Vendor Validated Interoperability Testing With BroadSoft BroadWorks

First to Mobilize Enterprise Users of BroadSoft’s Network Operator

CHICAGO, June 6, 2006 FirstHand Technologies, an innovator in mobile VoIP software for enterprise use, today announced here at GLOBALCOMM that it has completed interoperability testing between BroadSoft® BroadWorks® and the FirstHand Mobile Console client software for WiFi and dual mode (WiFi and cellular) devices.

“As part of our vision of ‘Enterprise Communications Everywhere,’ BroadSoft service provider customers can now deploy mobile VoIP services on dual mode devices using the FirstHand Mobile Console,” said David Hattey, president & CEO of FirstHand Technologies. “BroadSoft is one of the market leaders in hosted VoIP services. By ensuring interoperability with its BroadWorks offering, we can extend those features to mobile users, ensuring they have access to the most advanced, feature-rich portfolio of enterprise mobility solutions in the market today, starting with the Mobile Console.”

Mobile Console delivers personal command and control of communications services over WiFi, or WiFi and GSM, or WiFi and CDMA network interfaces. Its network-aware, unified GUI and support for single number calling consolidates both WiFi and cellular identities to provide a seamless end-user experience.

“Mobilizing SIP endpoints is an important goal for the enterprise market segment. FirstHand Technologies innovations in network awareness and tight integration with Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 features are welcome additions to the BroadSoft partner system,” said Scott Wharton, vice president of marketing for BroadSoft. “We look forward to continued collaborations with FirstHand Technologies.”
