FirstHand Technologies Announces Support for Mobile Assistant on NokiaŽ E60 & E61

First to Mobilize Enterprise Users On the Latest Nokia Mobile Devices

OTTAWA, Sept. 27, 2006 FirstHand Technologies, an innovator in extending corporate IP PBX functionality onto mobile devices and fixed-mobile convergence (FMC), today announced immediate support for FirstHand Mobile Assistant on Nokia E60 and E61 devices.

FirstHand is the first supplier to mobilize enterprise users on these latest Nokia mobile devices.

“As part of our vision of Enterprise Communications Everywhere, Nokia E60 and E61 customers in addition to the Nokia 66xx series can now use FirstHand Mobile Assistant,” said David Hattey, president & CEO of FirstHand Technologies. “Mobile Assistant gives users access to the most advanced feature-rich portfolio of enterprise mobility software in the market today.”

Mobile Assistant is client software for smart phones and brings those users into the enterprise telephony environment. Using Mobile Assistant, mobile workers can accomplish the following:

  • Click an entry to call someone from their corporate directory, buddy list, recent calls, or group calls list
  • See how many voice mails on their office desk phone are waiting for them. With one click, they can retrieve messages.
  • Check the presence and availability of co-workers
  • Sort through the corporate directory
  • Perform instant messaging
  • Enable group calls and IM multicast
  • Sort through call logs of their desktop phone
  • Have the IP PBX deliver calls to a temporary number
