Press ReleasesFirstHand Technologies Completes Testing with BroadSoft for Its Enterprise Feature Set on Mobile Dual-mode DevicesFirst to Deploy BroadWork’s Shared Line Appearance Functionality on Mobile Devices; Delivers Enterprise Communications Everywhere Scottsdale, AZ, Oct. 16, 2006 – FirstHand Technologies, an innovator in transforming smartphones and PDAs into full-featured business telephones, today announced here at the BroadSoft Connections 2006 Executive Users Conference that it has completed vendor-validated testing of its full enterprise feature set on mobile dual-mode (WiFi/Cellular) devices with BroadSoft’s BroadWorks® VoIP platform. BroadSoft is a leading provider of VoIP application software. The testing validated the functionality of FirstHand’s enterprise features, including enabling callers to see the line status of other mobile workers, the sharing of mobile/deskphone lines, enabling hold and pickup (hold the call on the mobile device and pickup on any BroadWorks desktop instrument or vice versa), voice mail and more. These features provide BroadSoft customers with the ability to perform the same activities from their mobile devices as they do from their BroadWorks enterprise desk phones. As a result, mobile workers are able to benefit from the availability of enterprise communications everywhere. This announcement follows a June 6, 2006 statement in which FirstHand announced the completion of interoperability testing between BroadSoft BroadWorks and the FirstHand Mobile Console client software for WiFi and dual mode (WiFi and cellular) devices. The FirstHand Mobile Console delivers personal command and control of communications services over WiFi, or WiFi and GSM, or WiFi and CDMA network interfaces. Its network-aware, unified GUI and support for Shared Line Appearance consolidates both WiFi and cellular identities to provide a seamless end-user experience. “In addition to extending BroadWork’s functionality using the FirstHand Mobile Console, FirstHand Technologies is the first to deploy BroadWork’s Shared Line Appearance functionality on mobile devices,” said David Hattey, president and CEO of FirstHand Technologies. “I am excited to announce that the FirstHand Mobile Console is now ready for evaluation from FirstHand Technologies. Interested parties should contact us for more information.” Hattey added: “We believe our partnership with BroadSoft will provide a stronger incentive to customers to invest in and stay with the BroadWorks platform. And, we’re also expecting to announce OEM partners that will bring this to market in the near future.” “Our business customers are demanding solutions for their increasingly mobile workforces,” said Scott Wharton, vice president of marketing for BroadSoft. “Fixed-mobile convergence services are in demand now. FirstHand Technologies’ expertise in mobilizing the enterprise workforce makes the company an ideal partner.” About FirstHand Technologies (www.firsthandtech.com) About the BroadWorks Platform About BroadSoft FirstHand Technologies are registered trademarks of FirstHand Technologies.
