FirstHand Mobile Console UC: Dual Mode Edition

The FirstHand Mobile Console UC is a Mobile Unified Communications, client software application that installs on dual-mode (WiFi/cellular) mobile devices that run Windows Mobile® 5 and 6 as an operating system.

Ideal for executives, road warriors and corridor cruisers, the FirstHand Mobile Console UC delivers unified mobility and unified communications features by extending your desktop telephony features over cellular, WiFi, WiFi and GSM, or WiFi and CDMA network interfaces.

The Mobile Console UC requires the Enterprise Mobility Gateway to unify your communication infrastructure and is part of the FirstHand Enterprise Mobility Solution (PDF).

Key Unified Mobility Features*

  • Single Number Reach

  • One Voice Mailbox
All voicemails are now stored in one location, meaning you only have to check one voice mailbox to listen to all messages.
  • Inbound Call Screening
Screen calls giving you the option to accept the call, accept the call on a another phone number (e.g., your home office phone), forward to a colleague or send to voicemail on a call-by-call basis.
  • Fixed-Mobile Convergence

Benefits to the End User

  • More time and opportunities to be productive
As the FirstHand Mobile Console: Dual Mode Edition is integrated with your communications infrastructure, you'll be more responsive to voice mails as you can see at a glance whether you have a message waiting. Use the voice over WiFi feature to take/make calls away from your desk. Only one voice mailbox means you don't waste time checking several mailboxes for customer voicemails. Click-to-call someone from Outlook or your buddy list and use all your enterprise IP-PBX telephony features to keep your productivity levels high from any where at any time.
  • Faster customer responsiveness
With simultaneous ring and single-number reach, customers will quickly learn that they can talk with you when they need to and will not be stuck as often in voice mail limbo. And when they do leave a message, you'll be notified immediately on your mobile device that is always with you.
  • Unified user experience
Reduce the number of mobile devices your road/corridor warriors carry to just one where making/taking calls over cellular/WiFi uses the same user interface.

Benefits to the Enterprise

  • Publish one phone number on business cards
As customers only need one phone number to reach your employees, mobile or not, you only need to publish one phone number on business cards. Now customers won't be confused which phone number to call.
  • Greater mobile expense control
Place and receive a call over the best available network – WiFi or cellular – optimizing for lowest cost, highest call quality or user preference.
  • Supported on a wide variety of
    dual-mode devices

As new devices are made publicly available, FirstHand Technologies ensures that they are supported.
  • Enables stronger regulatory compliance
Because all calls originate at your IP PBX/IP Centrex, you retain internally all call logs, voice mails, and call activity records.
  • Phone number stays with the Enterprise
When you experience turnover in your sales team, your customers will continue to call your organization's sales line, not someone's cell phone who's moved on.
